Yellow Rice
Ingredients
- 2 cup Rice
- 2 tbsp Butter or margarine
- 2 tbsp Chicken stock powder
- 1 tbsp Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder (optional)
- 1/2 tsp Cumin (optional)
Preparation
- In advance, mix all the spices together on the side.
- Also in advance, make the water for the rice (4 cups here) boil.
- Melt butter in a pan
- Add rice to the butter, and the spice blend. Mix together a bit to make the rice brown.
- Add a big ladle (about 1/2 cup) of water to help the spices spread out, and mix until rice is a uniform color.
- Put rice in the boiling water and cook it as normal.
